Chelsea started their 2022/23 Premier League campaign with an impressive win against Everton in match day one at Goodison Park.
The Blues kept a clean against Frank Lampard’s side in a highly contested game as both sides created few chances in the match. Jorginho’s goals from the penalty spot help Chelsea claimed all three points in the contest.
Chelsea played a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge, they lost to Leeds United 3-0 at Elland Road, beat Leicester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge, lost to Southampton at Saint Mary’s Staduim.
They defeated West Ham United at Stamford Bridge 2-1, as they now sit 7th position in the Premier League table with just 10 points.
They lost to Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League group E opener and played 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge last time out.
They Blues now sit at the bottom of group E with just 1 point, while Serie A Champions AC Milan are top of the group E with 4 points, Dinamo Zagreb are second with 3 points and Salzburg are 3rd with 2 points.
Chelsea relieved Thomas Tuchel of his managerial duties on the 8th September 2022, and appointed Graham Potter on the 9th of September, 2022.
Thomas Tuchel led Chelsea to play 100 games before his dismisal, the German gaffer won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup title with Chelsea.
Graham Potter is the new Chelsea manager , and has led Chelsea to their first competitive game against RB Salzburg in the Champions League, as the Blues played 1-1 draw against the Austrian side.
Thomas Tuchel is a high profile manager considering the number of trophies he has won in his managerial career, but he was dismissed because of his managerial style, while Potter on the other hand haven’t won any trophy in his managerial career.
In 2020/21 season he led Brighton to finish 16th position in the Premier League table, while in 2021/22 season Brighton finished at 9th position in the Premier League table.
Chelsea might end up not winning any trophy this season, and they might crash out of the Champions League this term and probably miss out next season. The Blues owner might decide to show Graham Potter the exit door after a huge summer investment in the transfer window with nothing to show.
Potter haven’t managed a big team in his career and Chelsea is the first big team the Englishman is managing, but I think it be difficult for him to succeed looking at the issue’s the club is facing right now.
During Roman Abramovich’s era, he brings in high profile managers to succeed high profile managers and Chelsea won 21 major trophies in 19 years of his reign
