It is a big Saturday evening for Thomas Tuchel as he lines up the Chelsea team for the Premier League match against Leeds United. Defeat to West Ham and the subsequent draw at Saint Petersburg are the lowest point in the German’s tenure and he and the Blues will be out to prove the doubters wrong this weekend.

Chelsea’s defeat to the Hammers dismantled them from the top of the league table and they are now trailing Manchester City and Liverpool by slender 1 and 2 points. A win is needed here to keep the title challenge going, but nothing is guaranteed against a team like Leeds, we all know that Bielsa’s men will press relentlessly for 90 minutes.

A strong defense was the pillar of Tuchel’s success at Stamford Bridge, but this is now breached to epic proportions.
Success for one trick pony is rare, but Diego Simeone did it with 4-4-2 counter attacking tactic, while Tuchel did the same with a 3-5-2 formation.

Now it is obvious that teams figured out to press Chelsea higher up the field to force mistakes to open a slow defense. In a tactical sense, there is no team worse than Leeds to face at this moment and Bielsa will be confident of giving the Blues some trouble on Saturday.

However, the visitors are in poor form, I doubt if they have the confidence and mindset to finish off games. This gives Chelsea a much-needed edge and I look no less than a home win in a potential high scoring thriller.
