UCL: Wednesday Matches, Fixtures, And Previews

Group A

Ajax vs Liverpool

Napoli vs Rangers

Ajax must defeat Liverpool in order to play in the Champions League when the two teams clash on Wednesday at the Johann Cruyff Arena.

If Liverpool draw, they might go to the knockout rounds with a point, but a victory might be required for Jurgen Klopp’s team to have a chance of unseating Napoli as the top team in Group A.

After a 4-0 victory over Rangers in their inaugural competitive match, Ajax seemed to have a solid chance of advancing to the knockout stages this season.

Group B

Club Brugge vs Porto

Atletico Madrid vs Leverkusen

With just one victory apiece from their first four Group B games, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen square off in a critical Champions League showdown. Atletico Madrid’s recent LaLiga victory against Real Betis was notable, while the German visitors’ Leverkusen’s miserable start to the season continued with a 1-1 tie with Wolfsburg. Atletico Madrid and Porto are vying for the second qualifying spot for the Champions League knockout stages, while this season, Club Brugge is already out of reach at the top of Group B.

Group C

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Inter Milan vs Viktoria Plzen

Barcelona will be attempting to maintain their chances of progressing to the next round of the Champions League when Bayern Munich comes to Camp Nou on Wednesday.

The Catalan team is currently in third place in Group C, trailing Inter Milan by three points. Inter Milan would advance if they won their earlier match against Viktoria Plzen. Bayern will make it to the round of 16 with two games remaining because they have won all four of their sectional games and are now in first place with 12 points.

Group D

Tottenham vs Sporting Lisbon

Marseille vs Eintracht Frankfurt

In the Group D match on Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur will face Sporting Lisbon in North London in an effort to move to the Champions League round of 16 and avoid a repeat of recent events.

Sporting are now in third position and are just one point behind their doubtful hosts, but with a win tonight, Antonio Conte’s squad would move into first place in the group and advance to the knockout stages
