The Player That Could Replace Kyle Walker if He Miss The 2022 World Cup

On the right side, you’ll find a defender from Manchester City. Because of a recent groin injury, Kyle Walker may not be able to play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

When Manchester City was leading United 6-3 in the first half, Walker became hurt and had to be removed from the field. The English international was sidelined for City’s Champions League win over Copenhagen.

An injury to Kyle Walker’s groin necessitated surgery this week, and it is expected that he will miss a significant amount of time (months). Considering Walker’s prominence on the English national team, Southgate’s disappointment at this news is understandable.

Walker can play either right-back or right-wing-back, and he is one of the fastest players in the world. Gareth Southgate has also deployed the 32-year-old defender on the right side of a central defensive three-man unit.

There aren’t many options for Man City right back. If Walker gets hurt or can’t play, Joao Cancelo can fill in for him at center back. There is a deep pool of talent for England’s right-back spot, giving Gareth Southgate plenty of options. England has several options for Walker’s replacement, including Kieran Trippier, Reece James, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Though Trent Alexander-Arnold has been starting for England ahead of Reece James, for now, Gareth Southgate may prefer Reece James of Chelsea because of his form.

Who do you think the England coach would prefer to start for England for the World cup James or Arnold? We will be waiting for your comment in the comment box
