The Imbalance In The Right-back And Left-back Positions Of The England National Team

Published

The Three Lions of England is blessed with a lot of Elite Right-backs that are playing for top clubs in Europe. There’s Kieran Trippier that is playing for Newcastle United, Reece James at Chelsea, Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool, Kyle Walker at Manchester City and Eric Dier at Tottenham Hotspurs.

Gareth Southgate invited all of these amazing Right-backs for the upcoming games of the England National team.

There’s no gainsaying that Gareth Southgate will have a hard time on who to start for the Right-back position because most of the named Right-backs have been in a great form this season except Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gareth Southgate also got a lot of Central-backs as he invited Conor Coady, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, John Stones and Fikayo Tomori. These are all CB that could start for the Three Lions of England in their upcoming games.

However, the same can’t be said about the Left-back position as Gareth Southgate only got two Players. Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw are only Left-backs in the list of 28 Players named by Gareth Southgate.

Gareth Southgate got 5 Right-backs which are all World class and just 2 Left-backs who aren’t getting enough playing time at club levels
