Without much doubts, Chelsea football club will be aiming towards achieving more success this season under the management of Thomas Tuchel after a busy summer transfer window.
The West London club made some signings to their squad during the summer as they look to rival the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League trophy this season.
However, that is quite working out well for Chelsea so far as they are currently occupying the 3rd position on the Premier League table following their scrappy 3-2 victory over Leeds United on Saturday evening.
And now, following a serious injury to Ben Chilwell, Chelsea are keen on adding a new left back to their squad and have been linked with a move for Everton left-back Lucas Digne.
The 28-year-old France International, who joined Everton from La Liga side Barcelona in 2018 has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.
The experienced left-back was quite impressive for Everton during the 2020/2021 season where he recorded seven assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Lucas Digne has also started the 2021/2022 season on a strong note and has scored one goal in the 15 appearances he has made in all competitions for Everton so far.
His impressive performances in that defence role is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea and according to reports from The Sun, Chelsea are interested in signing Lucas Digne when the transfer window opens.
The reports further claimed that Chelsea are keen on signing Lucas Digne and are looking at submitting a transfer bid to lure him away from Everton next year.
It is believed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to add Lucas Digne to his sqaud following the injury sustained by Ben Chilwell in November.
If signed, Lucas Digne will join up to provide the needed competition for the only fit Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso in the squad as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
