Due to a hamstring injury that has kept him out for the majority of the season, France midfielder N’Golo Kante is expected to miss the World Cup.

The 31-year-old Kante has missed much of the season due to a hamstring injury he sustained against Tottenham Hotspur back in August. He had been working carefully toward regaining full fitness but lately experienced an injury recurrence during training.

Kante will now miss the World Cup due to the injury, which was first reported by L’Equipe. It is improbable that the midfielder will make a full recovery in time.

Kante has been plagued by injury problems for a number of months, and his playing time has been significantly cut back in recent years as a result of a variety of injuries.

Kante’s availability for Chelsea and France has been limited due to a string of injuries, the most recent of which is his current hamstring problem.

Graham Potter and Chelsea will be concerned about Kante’s injury as well because of the busy schedule they have up to November 13, when the Premier League takes a break for the World Cup
