FA Cup: Becker Revealed who assisted him in saving Azpilicueta, and Mount’s penalties in a 6-5 win

Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s goalkeeper, has explained why he was able to save penalty shots from Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount in their 6-5 penalty shootout triumph over Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Liverpool won their second title of the season by overcoming Chelsea in a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup back in February.

Alisson saved penalties from Azpilicueta and Mount to earn his team their second domestic title of the season and increase their chances of completing the quadruple.

“Wasn’t it good? All goalie coaches assist me in making judgments. They are terrific players, and Chelsea performed admirably, but we deserved to win. I only save because we earned it.

“This boosts our confidence for the Premier League and the Champions League final.” It’s a beautiful time right now; all we have to do is enjoy it.” It’s incredible, we did such a terrific job. It’s bad we didn’t win. It was a good fight, we held a clean sheet, and then the lads were incredible scoring the goals. I couldn’t help but preserve the final one.

“I am overjoyed. I and Mendy both made fantastic saves. I couldn’t have made the saves without the team’s assistance. They operate wonderfully and make my life simpler.”
