Chelsea vs Liverpool Predicted Starting XI: Lukaku Start in front with Pulisic, Odoi and Havertz Bench

Chelsea are set to face Liverpool in what could be a title decider. Manchester City are currently clear on the top of the table with 11 points ahead of Chelsea. If Chelsea draw this game, then City will have a 10 points gap.

Chelsea’s Premier League title dreams took a different turn when they lost their left wing-back, Ben Chilwell. Since his absence they have been struggling in games, and are inconsistent with their results.

The last time both clubs met in the Premier League, it ended in a 1-1 draw. Chelsea did an incredible job defensively, even though they were down to 10 men. Hopefully they will be looking to replicate such a result, or perhaps give a better one.

The Blues will fancy a draw heading into this game, because they have been poor at home. Chelsea face Liverpool who are very strong on the attack, and would be looking to get hold of the 3 points to stay in the title race.

Chelsea still have some players out on injury. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is still battling a thigh problem, while Andreas Christensen is out because of back pain.

Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner were all involved in training, which is good news for Thomas Tuchel. With these players, he can come with a strong lineup to start the game.

After the stunt Romelu Lukaku pulled in the media there is a chance Thomas Tuchel will sideline him for the Liverpool game. Lukaku set up an interview, and said some pretty unnecessary things which questioned his loyalty to Chelsea and the fans.

The Predicted Squad That Thomas Tuchel Will Start With For The Liverpool Clash

If Romelu Lukaku happens to escape punishment, then he would lead the frontline of Chelsea’s attack. Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount would play behind him.

Christian Pulisic has always been playing out of position for Chelsea. It will be nice for him to start in his natural position for a change.

Kante seems fit enough to start, so he will man the midfield alongside Jorginho.

The best two options for wing-backs are Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta. It will be difficult for Chelsea with these wing-backs, because Liverpool have very fast attackers.

Antonio Rüdiger, Trevor Chalobah and Thiago Silva will sit in the defence for Chelsea. Silva’s distribution will be needed because Liverpool play with a high press.

Edouard Mendy should be ready to deal with some long ranged shots and crosses into the box. These are the areas Liverpool specialise in
