Chelsea given greenlight to complete a deal for 18-year-old Barcelona playmaker

Chelsea has reportedly been given green light to complete a deal for an 18-year-old Guinean-born Spaniard, who plays for Barcelona as a playmaker this summer.

The 18-year-old Barcelona midfielder has been surrounded with transfer speculations linking him with a move out of the Camp Nou, with Chelsea being known as a good admirer of the Barcelona youngster.

Ilaix Moriba has been able to establish himself as a key player for Barcelona since he came through their youth setup and has enjoyed a regular first-team start, with his world-class playmaking skills being well recognized at the Camp Nou.

Chelsea has remained keen on signing the 18-year-old playmaker, as they identified him as a way to boost their midfield in the next season.

According to recent reports from the Sun, Chelsea has been given a boost to sign Moriba, as Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club is willing to part ways with the 18-year-old Guinean-born Spaniard playmaker.

Moriba was able to feature in 13 games across all competitions for Barcelona during the last campaign and found the back of the net just once.
