2 Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea Premier League Records That Graham Potter Could Break Today

With Chelsea set to host Wolverhampton Wanderers today, the new manager, Graham Potter will have an opportunity to break one record of his predecessor, Thomas Tuchel.

In the 2 successful years Tuchel spent at Chelsea, there was one particular thing he couldn’t manage to achieve as the blues boss.

Remember that his first game in charge of Chelsea when he replaced Frank Lampard was a home match against today’s opponents. The match ended in a drab 0-0 draw.

Although he went on to achieve great success at the club, the German never managed to get a win over Wolves. Two more draws followed the nil nil draw in his first match as Chelsea manager before he was relived of his job.

This means that today, Graham Potter could break some of Tuchel’s Premier League records.

1) He could become the first coach to beat Wolves since Frank Lampard, more than two years ago. A feat Thomas Tuchel couldn’t achieve.

2) He could register his first Premier League home win as Chelsea manager against the same team Tuchel faced.

Although, the situation isn’t quite the same for both managers as Potter has had 3 matches as Chelsea boss already. And like Tuchel, he drew his first ever game in charge of the club which was also a home match but in the Champions League.
